Following two cool days in Naples, we awoke to a sunny day! Finally, we got to enjoy our first lunch on the beach. There are five small parking lots at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. We arrived around 11 a.m. and there were plenty of spots to park. We chose Lot 3; it was a great choice since it was the least crowded beach area. By 1 p.m., the beach began filling up. We decided two hours was a good length of time to begin exposing my white body to the sun (even though I was covered in 70-strength suntan lotion).
There were so many highlights to those two hours. The water was cold - probably from all the rain that fell the past two cool days. Because of how warm the air was, I just HAD to go in. I did not stay in long, that is for sure; however, I can now say I went swimming in the Gulf of Mexico in January! Another highlight was seeing a flock of pelicans fly right past us slightly above the surface of the water. Russ spotted and pointed out a dolphin frolicking in the water about 50 yards in front of our area of the beach. What a beautiful creature!
Here are some pictures of our adventure:

Now I get to relax on our lanai. Life is good.
