Beach Action

GREAT two days at the beach!  Yesterday, Russ and I spent the longest time yet at the beach - - about three hours.  Actually, at first it appeared we could not get into the beach because the "closed" sign was up on 111th Street.  We decided to "go around the block" and take a little detour to the house to which Russ's parents first retired:

Approaching the beach from another road, it appeared some people were getting into the park despite the "closed" sign.  We were the LAST car let in before the cones went up!

thrilled to be sitting in the last car in line
It was VERY apparent that it was March school break throughout much of the nation.  Many, many white people (as opposed to tanned or heavily freckled people) were on the beach.  There were lots of children and teenagers.  A "camp" appeared to be taking place on one part of the beach.  Girls around the ages of 10-12 were being lead by what looked like a counselor.  Paddle boarding was one of their activities:

Russ and I took our usual walk from our beach spot at parking lot #4 to the pass.

It was a little windy on our walk back to our chairs.  In fact, Russ's beach chair was on the ground folded up when we returned from our walk; the wind had evidently knocked it over.

Chair and owner are back where they belong!
One of my usual close-up photos of a dolphin...at least this time you can partly see it!
There must have been at least twenty people taking photos of the dolphin.
our little corner of the world...
This morning Russ played bocci in the morning with men from the condo community.  Shortly after lunch we headed to the beach.  We knew there would be no problem getting in since it was cloudy and very windy at the condo; we figured it would be worse at the beach.  We got to the park shortly before high tide.  We were delighted by what we saw!

No, these photos do not really show you what we witnessed here at the pass.  Click HERE for a short video!

After visiting the pass, we began our walk along the shore back to parking lot #4.

Shortly after walking by this kite surfer, another kite surfer still on shore asked Russ for help to get him going.

Again, a video will really do a better job showing my husband (and the kite surfer) in action.  Click HERE!

After assisting the kite surfer, we continued our walk back to parking lot #4.

tide is now going out; our normal beach area up ahead is still under water
